Geolog recognises the importance of protecting the Health, Safety and Environment during its operations. Geolog therefore pro-actively works with employees, clients, contractors, public and government agencies in order to achieve the highest possible standards of health, safety and environmental protection. As defined in Geolog ´s HSE Policy, the objectives to which the Company assigns the greatest importance are:
- The prevention of exposure to risks in all areas of its operations on the basis that all accidents are preventable;
- Compliance with relevant legislation, codes, guidelines and standards provided by international organisations (e.g. IMO, ISO, etc.), as well as the application of more stringent standards where the Company considers it appropriate;
- The protection of the health of its employees and of those who may be affected by its operations;
- The protection of Company’s and third parties’ property from possible damages;
- The prevention of damage to the Environment which could be caused by its operations;
- The attainment of International Safety Management (ISM) code certifications.
Geolog seeks to achieve these objectives by:
- Ensuring an appropriate level of employee training in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental Protection in all areas of its operations;
- The use of an effective two-ways communication system for all Health, Safety and Environmental issues;
- Providing adequate human, technical and financial resources;
- Clearly defining the duties and responsibilities of all employees with regards to HSE;
- Implementing the Safety Management System (SMS) ;
- Continually improving its Health, Safety and Environment Management System by firm management principles in line with current industry standards.
The application of this policy is a direct responsibility of Line Management and all Employees of the Company involved in its day to day activities. It is Geolog´s aim to constantly revise and improve the contents of the present policy and to repeatedly audit its application throughout its bases and operatoons around the world. Antonio Calleri
