INTRODUCTION

Geolog has grown significantly since being founded in 1982 and we currently have more employees than ever before: over 850 people work for Geolog across 23 countries, 95% of which are university graduated. Even if the scope of our work is geology oriented; we do not just employ geologists, but also recruit engineers in fields such as Electronics, Mechanics and IT.
As a service company, Geolog´s most valuable asset is its staff; as such we invest heavily in its recruitment, training, development and wellbeing. Due to a very low turnover rate within the company, our personnel also get a high degree of confidence in the company procedures and this makes Geolog staff highly reliable and professional.

Geolog is an international company, which adheres all local labour laws and offers salary conform to the local market. We uphold the highest standards when it comes to the safety of our personnel and are a member of the United Nations Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org), a worldwide initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations with the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti corruption.

Geolog is represented all over the world through its network of local bases. All bases receive technical support, training and ‘Quality, Health, Safety and Environment control’ (“QHSE”) through Milan, Italy and Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the latter being the head quarters of the Geolog group.

Each of Geolog´s local and regional operations are managed by a country manager, who has overall responsibility for the local operations.
Each country manager, assisted by supervisory personnel, has the responsibility for managing the field staff and administrative and financial personnel for his/her countries of operations.

When you join Geolog , we actively encourage you to reach your full potential and to grow in your work, to enhance your professional skills and to reach your goals. However, our work environment is not suitable to everyone. We send our employees all over the world to work on oil & gas rigs in tough environments such as the desert, the jungle, off shore or even in arctic conditions. Our operators are based onsite for weeks at a time working on a shift basis.

It is not the easiest job in the world but it is very rewarding and full of new daily challenges. So who makes a good Mud Logger? Who will enjoy this challenge? One of our operators explains why he chose a career in Mud Logging as follows:

“I had just graduated from university and was not sure what I wanted to do next. I knew I wanted to work in geology but at the same time I wanted to travel and see the world. Thanks to Geolog I am able to do both. Every shift I go away, I learn a lot and I really enjoy working side by side with people from all over the world … it is an amazing experience.”

To enquire on a position within Geolog please submit a brief cover letter stating your area of expertise and country/region of interest along with an updated copy of your CV. These documents should preferably be in English.
