SURFACE LOGGING SERVICES
Across our twenty three countries of operations, Geolog's unique focus is on Surface Logging. Geolog's leadership in advanced technologies for drilling optimisation analysis is the result of our field experience and continued active research and development in co-operation with our clients.
Geolog's standard mud logging service is executed in mobile laboratory units at the rig site, typically by two Geologists and two Petroleum Engineers in relation to the level of service requested. The unit collects and analyses information from the rig site and relays it in real-time to the decision makers on site or, through our Wellcoms service, to any other location.
An advanced Surface Logging Service & Equipment permits our clients to improve efficiency and reduce unproductive time, saving costs and improving rig site safety. The use of reliable industrial computers (IBM Servers) instead of "old style" acquisition panels and control systems has revolutionized the concept of Mud Logging with important improvements on quality of the information delivered and reliability of the actual system. Geolog's data analysis helps personnel on the rig site to receive crucial information in real-time and allows them to make the correct decisions, providing our clients with solutions to problems encountered during drilling operations. Geolog's SAERT system (System of Acquisition and Elaboration in Real Time) has been designed using the latest technologies in data acquisition and processing. SAERT, associated with new sensors, new technologies, the utilisation of the latest industry analysis models, we provide the most accurate information in terms of surface analysis. The high frequency data processing allow the acquisition and processing of torque and drag vibration of drilling string, permitting the evaluation of drilling efficiency.
Geolog's cabins are built to the highest specifications: we select directly the materials with which they are assembled, and we take care directly of the mounting, cabling, conditioning of the laboratories. Geolog basically builds its own cabins.
Qualified and experienced personnel are the key for service quality. Geolog operates with a core group of engineers which have 20+ years experience in the business and are guiding younger colleagues directly on the field. The continuous training system utilizes eight full-time training centres around the world with dedicated training cabins installed on live wells as well as self-training modules customised for each field personnel.
