Improve hydrocarbon heavy components extraction, compulsory for deepwater & ultra-deep water wells

In deep water conditions, with a standard gas trap:
  • Mud temperature is too low to extract gas
  • The mud level changes, causing erratic degasser readings
  • As a result reliable gas detection is not possible

 
GEOLOG’s CVD and Mud Heater solve these problems ensuring high resolution of the gas data and repeatablity of the events, keeping:
  • CONSTANT VOLUME DEGASSED (constant pump rate)
  • CONSTANT TEMPERATURE (controlled by temperature sensor)
  • CONSTANT AGITATION (controlled by rpm sensor)
Extraction of hydrocarbon results and the repeatability of conditions is ensured by the repetitive Quality Control of connected sensors (Temperature, Mud Flow, Agitator RPM).

GEOLOG’s technology permits a quantitative hydrocarbon characterization  - constant extraction condition on all well sections enabling accurate quantity measurements.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE

Using the same equipment also on the suction line, it is possible to accurately evaluate the recycled gas, given extraction will be done at exactly the same conditions, thereby allowing for calculation of formation gas.
